Last Week's Teutopolis Sportsbackers Athletes of the Week were TJHS Cross Country's Kenzi Dust and Girls' Tennis' Ella Wermert!
Kenzi is a kind-hearted, driven cross country runner. She is always willing to lend a helping hand, lift people when they are down, and is always giving 110%. Kenzi shows great leadership on the team as a seventh grade athlete.
Ella is a leader on and off the tennis court. She models maturity in both wins and losses, and she has battled injury while staying optimistic in being able to finish the season strong!

It's a great day for Wooden Shoes Post Season Athletics!
TJHS Cross Country had multiple PRs at State! Our top place finisher was Bella Niebrugge in 105th. Archer Kitten led the boys in 140th.
Soccer won their regional game today 6-0!
Brileigh Bloemer shot a combined 180 to place T-52nd at state for Girls Golf!
THS Boys Golf placed 8th as a team - our highest finish ever! Coen Pennington led the charge with a combined 150 for T-10th place, earning an All-State Medal.
THS Girls Tennis are the team Sectional Champions! Abbie Lee placed 2nd in Singles. Anna Probst and Adi Davidson placed 3rd in Doubles! Ella Wermert and Allie Ruholl placed 4th in Doubles! They head to state finals starting Thursday!

Thank you to Teutopolis Unit 50 for purchasing some needed equipment for the high school weight room. We have 184 students taking advantage of Athletic PE this semester and this equipment will help us run class more efficiently!! #GoShoes!!!

This week's Teutopolis Sportsbackers Athlete of the Week! Congratulations Cooper Tegeler and Blake Niemerg!
Blake pitched a great game in the first round against Pleasant Plains. He comes to every game and practice ready to compete. He is supportive of his team mates and comes with a positive attitude to practice/games. Blake did not get down and showed good sportsmanship through the game at state!
Cooper is one of our Varsity Soccer team Captains this season and he has done a great job leading our team! On top of all of the other responsibilities that go along with being a senior, he stays dedicated to our team and our success. He is also apart of the CEO class which is a huge commitment and he has done a very good job balancing it all! He put a lot of work into his off season to improve and he is our second leading goal scorer so far this season, only behind by 1 goal. He is trust worthy, reliable, passionate and great at communicating with coaches and team!

This week's Teutopolis Sportsbackers Athletes of the Week are Exavier Smothers and Maddie Zane!
For TJHS Cross Country, Exavier is a leader when it comes to the team, but he is also a helping hand in all aspects of team support. He is a great help with showing the 7th graders learn how the sport works while bringing a fun aspect to the team!
For the high school Cross Country Team, Maddie is going into the Marines after high school, and she has been working so hard at practice and in physical training to prepare herself for boot camp in June. She’s been improving her cross country times by minutes from last year. For instance, last year at the Mattoon Invite she ran a time of 28:47 and this year she ran the race in 24:05.

Congratulations to the THS Golfers! Brileigh Bloemer and Isaac Weber were the medalists in their regionals! The boys advance to sectionals as a team by placing 2nd. On the girls' side, Brileigh Bloemer, Halle Bushue, and Molly Habing advanced as individuals!

TJHS - Sam Probst - Sam went 4-6 in our doubleheader vs Greenville. He's always a team player and will do anything asked of him.
THS - Paige Swingler - One of our 5 seniors that have taken on a lot of responsibilities this year. Everything from running warm ups to begin practice to organizing meals for tourney trips. Paige has stepped up in that way while also being a primary passer on varsity, and working very hard at improving her passing.
McMahon Meats is sponsoring the Junior Class Fundraiser (Class of 2026) again this year. 3% of the total sales from each Tuesday in September will go to the class. Come support the Class of 2026!!
