Foods class has been busy making cookies and omelets.
Each year the THS art students create portraits for kids as a part of the Memory Project. This year 10 portraits were created that will be delivered to each child in Cameroon (Central America).
Austin Hartke visited the Math for Everyday Living class and talked about what it looks like when you come in to invest for the first time. Thank you Austin for the visit. It was amazing information.
House Wiring students have recently learned how to wire a breaker box, receptacle, light fixtures, and three-way switches. Keep up the good work!

Algebra III and IIIA students using Law of Sines and Law of Cosines to solve general triangles found in the school building. Students went out into the building and used measuring tools to find three dimensions of the triangle, then returned to the classroom and found the remaining sides and angles using skills previously learned in class.
On February 23rd, Mr. Hank Niebrugge of Country Financial spoke to Economics students at THS about insurance. Topics included how insurance works as well as an overview of the various types of insurance available. Thanks to Mr. Niebrugge for taking time out of his schedule to come in and speak to us!
On February 26th, Economics students at THS were visited by Mr. Rich Hartke of Prudential Financial. Mr. Hartke discussed investing/financial planning with the class. A big thanks to Mr. Hartke for sharing his expertise with us!
On February 24th, Mr. Brad Koester of First State Bank of Beecher City hosted a question/answer session on topics related to banking and finance with Economics students at THS. We thank Mr. Koester for taking the time to visit our class!
Athletic PE finished “Max Week”. Everyone in class saw awesome improvements. Athletic PE completes strength training 3 days a week and Speed Training 2 days a week.

As part of their cardiovascular chapter, THS Anatomy & Physiology students were able to dissect and study cow, sheep, and deer hearts. As well as use a stethoscope, sphygmomanometer (blood pressure), and practice heart rates. Whole-heartedly love hands-on learning!
Foods and Advanced Foods classes enjoyed making pumpkin, chocolate, apple and peach pies.
Attention Deer Hunters!
The Quality Construction Co. (aka Shop Class) is a group making deer blinds to sell to the public. They are using as much recycled wood for cost efficiency.
The next project that will be for sale is a shooting table for shooting clay pigeons.
All prices will be announced later.
The last group is making a doghouse for Mr. Stortzum's dog.
Agriculture classes had a visit from SFC Derek Meyer from Illinois Army National Guard. He did a workshop on Behavior Styles.
Horticulture harvested their first crop. They were able to deliver fresh lettuce to the THS staff today.
