Yesterday was Generation Day at the high school as we celebrated both Homecoming Week and the 100th Day of School.
Freshmen dressed as babies
Sophomores dressed as college-aged young adults
Juniors dressed as middle-aged adults
Seniors dressed as senior citizens
And teachers... well, we figured that if our seniors are old, then we must be haunting the halls as ghosts of the past
THS Student Council has decorated the halls for our Homecoming Week, aptly themed "Masquerade" this year.

Derek Hewing is using a dry cut/metal cutting saw.
Kayden Zerrusen is using an oxyacetylene torch (OAW).
THS Anatomy and Physiology students were able to dissect cow and pig eyes as part of their special senses chapter! The lens was very cool to check out, as this is what is replaced during a cataract operation in humans. The tapetum (shiny blue part in the animal eye that causes their eyes to brighten when a light is shined on them) helps reflect visible light and contributes to their night vision. We humans don't have this.

"Welcome to life in the trenches!" U.S. history students at THS got a VIRTUAL look at what the trenches of WWI might have looked like, using Unit 50's Virtual Reality goggles. The VR goggles allowed students to view virtual scenes about WWI dogfights between planes in the air, the threat of U-boats on the open seas, life in the trenches, and the uses of new weapons like machine guns, tanks, hand grenades, and poison gas during WWI.
THS Art students created sculptures using recycled newspaper to construct a form and then applied plaster strips. Once the plaster hardened they were able to complete their sculpture by painting it.
