TJHS received an email from Mr. Greg Peterson (PE Teacher/Athletic Director) at Wenona Fieldcrest. The Teutopolis 7th grade boys basketball team competed at the IESA Class 7 3-A state game this past Saturday.
"I hope your trip home on Saturday was uneventful despite the undesired results of the game. I know that Thursday won't be the same without T-town and its fans. I don't mean that from a financial angle either! Your students and fans just create a championship atmosphere! Good luck to the 8th graders on Wednesday.
Once again, I want to tell you how impressed I always am with your students and fan base. They are positive and so cooperative and polite, to me anyway. So many compliments! Also, I noticed and someone else here did too. When our announcer asked fans not to stand on the seats of the bleachers, your students all stepped back and off of the seats like they were on cue! Most student sections would not have even listened to hear the announcement, let alone actually step off when asked to do so. So, a tip of the cap to you, your staff, and your kids for another great visit. I tell people all the time that I love having you guys here. I never have to worry about anything with the Teutopolis crowd. You can come back anytime!!"

The school-level competition is the first round in the annual National Geographic GeoBee, a geography competition designed to inspire and reward students’ curiosity about the world. Questions cover not only geography, buat also cultures, physical features, history and earth science.
The National Geographic Society developed the GeoBee in 1989 in response to concern about the lack of geographic knowledge among young people in the United States. Over more than three decades, 120 million students have learned about the world through participation in the GeoBee.
