Students in Introduction to Agriculture are learning about soil. They conducted an experiment to observe the porosity in a soil sample. Who knew counting bubbles was fun?
Some seniors got to visit TJHS today and spend time at lunch, recess and homeroom with the Jr. High students for Red Ribbon Week.
Athletic PE completed a testing week and our students continue to progress!! Congratulations to our student/athletes that made our boards and clubs!
Thanks to TEF mini grants, students are able to take part in a Makerspace at the Grade School where they can work on projects of their choice in the areas of engineering, robotics, coding, technology, arts and crafts. The materials and tools TEF has donated allow students to think creatively, problem solve, develop grit, and learn to grow from failure.

9 THS choir students attended the Youth in Harmony Festival at Eastern Illinois University on October 16th. Students spent the day singing with students from 11 other schools and performed that evening. THS students include: Joni Beckman, Charley Newlin, Maddie Zane, Elayna Lee, Oliver Lee, Ben Esker, Elaina Gaffin, Claire Mette, and Mary Jane Dennis.
Intro into Engineering and Technology class just finished a lesson on bridges. Each group studied a different type of truss and had to build a popsicle bridge to match their truss. They had 3 bridges hold 310 lbs without breaking! They finished the lesson with a speaker from Howell Paving. Kurt Haarman spoke with the students about options that are available after high school and some current and past projects they have worked on.
