Chris Tingley proudly presents Lillian Wernsing the November "Kids Have Talent" award certificate and gift for her achievement in band. She was selected by Teutopolis Junior High School band director, Melissa Orndorff, for her outstanding ability playing the flute and piano. The TGS & TJHS Band Concert was a huge success last night! It was packed full of a variety of terrific artists! Some fifth grade band students started the evening by playing Christmas songs while chorus students from the junior high and high school sang Christmas Carols in the front entrance. The sixth grade band and junior high band then performed and left the audience in awe! Way to go band students, chorus students, and Mrs. Orndorff, our band director! Thanks for some great entertainment last night!

TJHS had some special guests in the building this morning before school for "High Five Friday!" The THS Lady Shoes and Coach Laurie Thompson showed up to give the junior high students a "high five" for all the work they have done in the classroom and on the court so far this semester! Thank you Lady Shoes!!
The Teutopolis Junior High students tried something new this year by hosting a "Read & Feed" with some great community members! Students who chose to participate picked out books they wanted to read and community members offered to read the same books. On Friday, December 2, 2022, the community members and junior high students gathered over lunch to have a "Read & Feed" where they ate pizza while talking about their books! We appreciate the community members willing to participate in this for our students who enjoyed it very much! Way to go Wooden Shoes!!
TJHS Student Council members delivered food and monetary donations to our local Catholic Charities last Wednesday. The faculty and students collected 931 food items and $1,379 for the "Food to Share" initiative. Thanks to all those who donated to this worthy cause!
TJHS PE classes walked to the American Legion Memorial today in remembrance of all of our local veterans. Mike Funneman graciously donated his time to explain how the memorial came about. Thank you Mike, and thanks to all of our veterans!

TJHS students had dress up days last week for Red Ribbon Week. It was an interesting and colorful event! Thanks to all those students who participated and made the week enjoyable!
This afternoon TJHS staff and students had the privilege of getting a sneak peak at this year's junior high play called "Math." The cast and crew did a phenomenal job!! These students are loaded with talent! Performances for the public will be at TGS on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, Oct. 22 at 2:00 PM.
What a great weekend for TJHS! 114 students on the fan bus Friday and 56 students in the fan bus today! This never gets old!

The Fall Bike to School Event took place this morning! We had great weather with a great turnout! The event was a HUGE success. Thanks to all TJHS staff and students that participated!
Students in Mr. Niemerg's seventh grade science class did an activity where space could be a limiting factor. Student groups of different sizes had to assemble a 24 piece puzzle in a limited crowded space of one square meter. This demonstration was a lead-in to a discussion about factors that could limit a population from increasing.
Congratulations to the Teutopolis Junior High Girls Softball Team on a REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP today! The Lady Shoes defeated Jasper County 4-2 for the victory. They now play for the Sectional Championship this Saturday at St. Elmo starting at 11:00 AM. We are PROUD of you!
The Teutopolis Junior High baseball and softball programs as well as the Teutopolis High School softball program say, "THANK YOU!" to the Teutopolis Sportsbackers for the donation of funds towards the new batting cage net located at TJHS. Also, "THANK YOU!" to the Teutopolis Unit 50 maintenance crew, Jason Huber and Doug Westendorf, for installing the net.

Please help us recognize Coach Kent Niebrugge on Wednesday, September 7, for all of his accomplishments during his 20 years of coaching Teutopolis Junior High Baseball. A small ceremony will take place after the junior high baseball game at the junior high diamond. We invite all past players, families, and coaches to the diamond around 6:30. The celebration will continue at the Teutopolis Event Center following the ceremony.
